FREE Eyes/Ears/Dental/Nutrition (EED) Screenings are happening tomorrow, 2/26! Pre-K families should come and take advantage of this opportunity!

GSCS is hosting a Classified Employee Job Fair on Thursday, Feb. 27, at 277 E. Poplar St. from 3-5 p.m. If you are interested in school nutrition, maintenance, transportation and more, please attend!


Pre-K Families, Get Ready! GSCS Pre-K registration for the 2025-26 school year will be held February 24-March 14. Students must be 4 years old on or before Sept. 1, 2025, to be eligible. Free EED Screenings will be held on February 26.



On Tuesday, March 4th, Beaverbrook will hold two "Stakeholder" Meetings to gain input for planning the 2025-26 school year. Meetings will be held at 8:00 AM (in-person and virtual) and 4:00 PM (virtual). Google Meet links below.

On February 24th, Beaverbrook Elementary School is striving for 100% Attendance, as we return from Mid-Winter Break! All students who attend school on February 24th will earn a piece of duct tape to help duct tape Mr. McGavin to the wall! It will take all students to keep him stuck in place!


It has been an exciting few weeks for our Beaverbrook 5th graders! Makenzie Justice represented our school at the GSCS Social Studies Fair, won 2nd place, and will now be headed to the Regional Social Studies Fair! Bentley Mendez participated in the Griffin RESA Regional Literacy Days competition, and won 3rd place for Poetry Recitation! Congratulations to both of these students! Thank you for representing The Brook so well!



All GSCS schools will be closed for President's Day & Winter Break February 17-21, 2025. Have a safe and relaxing break!


SHS will host a STEM night for students in Grades 3-5 on February 28th from 5:00 - 8:00 PM. The last day to register is Wednesday, February 12th!

Next week, treat your Valentine to a cupcake or cookie from Smallcakes and support Beaverbrook simultaneously! Beaverbrook Staff will be "taking over" Smallcakes next Thursday, February 13th, from 6:00 - 8:00. A portion of sales from the evening will go back to Beaverbrook to support school initiatives!


This week is National School Counseling Week! This year’s theme is “School Counseling: Helping Students Thrive.” Thank you GSCS School Counselors for truly helping our students thrive academically, socially and emotionally. School counselors have a tremendous impact on helping our students achieve school success and plan for success in their future. Beaverbrook Families,
On Monday, February 10th, we will host our next Family Engagement Activity, "Wal-Mart Math Night," at the Griffin Wal-Mart from 4:30-6:30. While you complete your grocery shopping, your students can tag along and complete some fun, "real-world" math activities and earn a prize! The class with the most participants will receive a prize from Mr. McGavin!
